Hunt for the Hidden Treasure
Ya está a la venta el álbum que he hecho con Lerner Group, he tenido que cambiar mi estilo y adaptarme a fechas de entrega algo apretadas, de hasta 2 páginas diarias. Los que me conozcan saben que eso es mucho para mí. Se puede ver un adelanto en su web:
El proceso de creación de la portada es un buen ejemplo de lo que ha sido todo el cómic, que no ha estado mal, pero que habría sido diferente de haber podido tener más libertad. El color NO es mío. Gñé!

It is already on sale de comic book I made this summer for Lerner Group, I had to change my style and adapt myself to some hardcore deadlines of 2-3 pages per day (stop crying!). That's a lot for me, anyone who knows me knows that as well.

The cover creation proccess is a good example of what has been this comic book. Not bad, but not what I would do if I could have more freedom. The color is NOT mine...uh...

Madrid dibuja Arthur Gordon Pym
Under the title "Madrid dibuja", modelling sessions with a common theme are organized at Madrid' old Tabacalera building. This one was my first, and the chosen theme was "H.P. Lovecraft". It had some parts that could be polished more, but all in all, great experience. I'm sure I will be back every week. Great.

He vuelto. ¿Hola?...
Vuelvo a tener vida propia. Actualizar en la madrugada de un domingo dos meses después del último post es tener ganas de que no me lean, asi que reservo el post con tetas e información novedosa para mañana. A los 20 minutos de empezar el boceto, tenía este aspecto:
I already finished the comic-book with Lerner, and I'm back to my own projects. But updating in the night between a sunday and a monday is crazy enough, so I save the updates and the drawing with tits for tomorrow. After 20 minutes drawing, this was the stage of the sketch.
And this is how it looks after one hour. I remembered the sketches done in Art School from statues, and I found this one dedicated to Diego Lopez de Haro, governor of Vizcaya. One of his ancestors used the "de Haro" 2nd name for the first time, the same one that my grandfather had. The legend say that the guy married with a half demon woman, the voluptuous kind of. So that's the answer to many things.

Éste es el último yuyu hasta la fecha. Hemos dado a la serie una pausa hasta que Tones y yo formalicemos un nuevo proyecto, y yo me libere de algunos compromisos profesionales (He dibujado para IDW, y ahora preparo un cómic educativo para Lerner). Con ustedes, la chica que flotaba:

Portal
Pues este es el dibujo que les he preparado a la gente de Mondo-Pixel, y con el que he participado en su quincena dedicada al "Portal 2" que confieso, aún no he jugado. A la primera parte si, POR SUPUESTO. Por cierto, mientras terminaba éste dibujo se me ocurrió una ideaca para otro mil veces mejor, al menos en mi cabeza, que espero poder hacer en algún momento.
Pd. Si, tiene algún error, pero el principal se soluciona si pones la carica asi de lado, como la cara que se repite. Arreglando el dibujo desde tu casa, qué metatextual!
This is the drawing I made for the people of Mondo-Pixel , it was done for the Two Weeks of Portal2, which I confess, I've not played yet. Of course I finished the first one. By the way, while I was finishing this one off, I got a thousand times better idea for a drawing, but I expect doing it eventually, just not now.
Ps: Yes, it haves some mistakes, but the main one is solved if you put your own face like that profile repeated. That way you fix my drawing from the real world, awesome, isn't it?

El viernes 15, a las 17:00, si os pasais por el stand de Wacom del Salón de Barcelona, estaré haciendo una demostración en vivo de color digital, y chistes malos. El dia anterior y en el mismo sitio estarán Lidix primero, y miki después. Lo que hagan va a ser muy tremendo, asi que no perderselo.
El dibujo es el logo de mi próximo proyecto. Permanezcan atentos a la Mogo-señal si les gusta, amigos, habrá más.
This friday 15th, at 5:00 pm, I will be doing a live show of digital colour and bad jokes at the Barcelona Comic-Con. The day before, first Lidix and then Miki will do the same, and it will be probably awesome.

Yuyu de marisco.
Dejo caer la entrega del yuyu de esta semana así como si tal cosa, pero no es poco. Tones y yo estamos desbordados y conseguimos dejarles un yuyu nuevo cada dos semanas. Aunque no los ponga aquí todos (por no llegar siempre al nivel que quiero), la parte de John Tones está yendo a más cada semana. Un mérito teniendo en cuenta la ubicuidad de Tones ultimamente, escribiendo para El jueves, para El Butano Popular, para Mondo Pixel, y dios sabe qué mas.
Por cierto, no tengo ni idea de si a los niños les asusta, y me gustaría saberlo. Por ahora, y digo por ahora, la sangre es el único límite autoimpuesto. Ya ven que los bichos no.
I let the Yuyu tale of the week to slide here as if it was easy, but not. Tones and I have been flooded with work lately, and still we manage to produce a new yuyu tale each 2 weeks. Even if I do not post them here all (because I don't like all my drawings the same, that's true), the written part of Tones is going higher each week. A giant task, being as he is busy writting for El Jueves, Butano Popular and who knows what else.
By the way, I have no idea if we get to scare any young reader with our tales, and I would like to know about it. By now, blood is the only limit we have. As you see, bugs are not.

Esto no es de ahora, si lo pongo es porque no ha resultado, hace meses que la mandé, y ya estoy con otras cosas. La página tiene aciertos y tiene fallacos, pero hay que hacerlas rápido, gratis, y que si, que estoy dando excusas. El lápiz, aqui.

Pruebas, yo os maldigo!
En realidad las disfruto cuando el resultado es aceptable. Lo que no me gusta es la manía de no pagarlas. Señor editor, ya que se ha perdido TANTO por internet como para acabar en la página de un dibujante, ¿Qué le parece ésta idea? recopile las páginas de prueba que tiene en su cajón, y publíquelas en un tomo, previo paso por caja.
Esta es la primera de tres páginas que hice para un editor que quería adaptar una novela pulp de un conocido creador de sectas. Hubiese sido lo más. Por cierto, que tendría que haberla puesto ántes aqui, pero tengo un cacao de trabajos hechos, y pruebas, que vaya vaya.

Actually I enjoy the editor test pages when I make a good enough work. What I don't like is the funny idea of not paying a dime for them. Mr. editor, if you have lose yourself so much into the internet as to read this, here I throw you a killer idea. Gather some of the best test pages you got and publish a book with them. Only after you give us some dead presidents, of course.This is the first of three pages I made for an editor who wanted to adapt the pulp book of a known sect creator. This could have been the best. Anyway, I should have posted it here before, but I have a nice mess of works done and test pages in my comp. Sorry!

Leche
Tras un fin de semana interesante, aunque no tan divertido, y un par de semanas estresantes pero divertidas, empiezo ésta con ganas. Tengo más ilustraciones de IDW por hacer, un dossier que preparar (o dos!), y arranco con un dibujo propio. Es sólo un apunte de una foto que encontré de una chica bañada en leche. Ya está bien de tanto tio y tanto músculo.
After an interesting -but not so fun- weekend, and a busy -but fun- week, I start this one with high spirit. I have more IDW illustrations ahead, and one (or two!) dossiers to finish but I choose to start it with a drawing for myself. Is just a sketch from a pic I found of a model in a milk bath.
Enough with all those muscled guys.

La mano que desdibujaba.
Como cada dos semanas, un nuevo cuento del Yuyu. Entre los cuentos del Yuyu, los dibujos de IDW, los grises para las páginas de Juanan en el Kiss, y el diseño de un par de proyectos, mi malísima capacidad de organizarme el tiempo está a punto de implosionar.
He descubierto que si no duermo de noche, desayuno a las 8 de la mañana, me acuesto, y me levanto a la hora de comer, convierto la comida en mi desayuno, y el desayuno en mi cena, creando la dieta perfecta. ¿El desayuno no tenía que ser la comida más contundente? Pues yo desayuno primero, segundo y postre.
As every two weeks, a new Yuyu tale. Now with those drawings, the grey design for the Juanan pages for "Kiss Comix", the IDW illustrations, and the design of two personal projects, my time schedule skills are going to implode.This way I found recently that if I work all night, and get my breakfast before going to bed, I make it becomes my dinner. That way, the strongest meal of the day, the next one, is my real breakfast. Perfect diet.

Sheba Queen
Estoy haciendo ilustraciones para IDW, nada muy espectacular, no son portadas, pero son a color, algunas endemoniadamente divertidas, y todas un desafío de realizar.
Por primera vez he hecho los bocetos a color también, lo que a la larga me está ahorrando tiempo.
En éste que tenía que dibujar algo de la nación de la Reina de Saba, y yo dibujé a la propia reina. Me sugirieron que no, que prefieren tios cachas llevando peso. Os pongo el boceto rechazado porque se que os va a gustar.
Por cierto que disfruto el dar color cada vez más. Creo que acabaré consiguiendo la prueba que mande a color, esto es un hecho.
I am doing some works for IDW, nothing too fancy, no covers, just illustrations, but color ones. Some of them are a hell of a fun, and some are a real challenge.
It's the first time I do the previous sketches in colour, and even being a longer process, I am getting very few of them rejected, so all in all, is a clever system.
This one had to show some of the old nation of the Sheba Queen, and I decided to hit the nail doing to the queen herself. But they prefer sweaty muscled guys, and that's what I was told to do. And this one is just for your eyes.

Muy oscuro
Éste es el dibujo que pude exprimirme tras leer el último cuento del Yuyu de Tones. Es probablemente el más complicado hasta la fecha, no de hacer, pero si de idear. Como en el cuento se dice, si miras a la oscuridad el tiempo suficiente, puede que veais...algo.
This is the latest Yuyu tale I made a drawing for. Probably the most complicated one till now. Not complicated to draw, but complicated to be designed. As in the tale done by Tones, if you see the darkness long enough, you could see...something.

Shoot-a-tron
En el último minuto he decidido entrar en el libro que Stacey Owens prepara con todos los dibujos que le han dedicado en Deviantart. También es cierto que me lo ha pedido con una suave voz robótica mientras me apuntaba con un revólver a la sien, pero lo que importa es el resultado. He probado a dar color sobre una gama de grises que había creado previamente con un rotulador Copic, que era más oscuro de lo que hubiese querido, pero vaya, no ha quedado mal. Se que la pose recuerda al dibujo de spiderwoman que hice hace tiempo, pero si no lo digo, no lo habríais sabido, asi que estamos en tablas, y no se hable más.
